...and no excuses now, but I just can't seem to find enough time in the day to get all my fun squeezed in. Each 24 hours has been a beautiful gift lately. I've have been extremely selfish, doing whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted for days now. It has been blissful. I'll make you no promises and I'll tell you no lies... but I'll try to do better in the days to come!
Here's what we did last week...
The Sweet Seasons and I and our spouses took Hi-way 36 west to Estes Park and spent the night in a vintage Motel.
We stopped along #36 to take a few "Americana" photos..
The hometown of Sweet Momma Ruth...Agra
A vintage style (Discovery Lodge) lodge in Estes became our home away from home for a few days. It was idyllic...great views...a fishing pond...great recommendations for dinner!
How do I relax while the love of my life risks his life climbing rocks? 2 words...Life Insurance, Baby!
Our favorite shop in Estes...Cottage Bliss...please check them out if in the area. If you do visit, make sure to ask them who owns the shop. The answer might surprise you. Hint: He owns everything. Thank you Cottage Bliss, you were a blessing to us!
We took a "zoomed to the max" photo of what we thought was a twister touching down --way off south of I-70 --as we tooled along home.
Was it a tornado? We don't know but the wall cloud and tails pointed to tornado weather.
"In God We Trust' --Amen, brother.
Keep on Trucking!"
Finally, back to the little city on the edge of the prairie....
....and the giant windmills that guard our little part of the great big prairie!!!
This week...painting. Painting rooms, painting doors, painting furniture....Painting!
Check in later to see if I actually accomplish anything on my
To Do list!!!
Oh,my, way too much fun for one person! I'm so glad you had a great time...I love the pictures...especially that old church! Isn't it wonderful to be able to just "get away" sometimes? Glad you didn't fall off the face of the earth!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Laura
So? Is that Husker red you were wearing? Oh, my, that could be dangerous there. We stopped by a Husker store in Estes Park who had been egged, rocks thrown through windows, etc. All because of a silly football team...
ReplyDeleteEstes Park was where we went on our honeymoon.
It's good to see you posting again. It seemed kind of quiet in blogland. :)
HI!!!! I'm so glad to see your post!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Estes Park! I need to put that on my list of places to go back to.
What a fun time! I love the photo of the little church and of you with the lovely scenery behind you. What a beautiful place to experience!
ReplyDeleteOohh ~ I hope you like painting? ;~P
Blessings!
Cute little hats you and the hubby are wearing!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your painting but come see us sometime.
Melinda
Oh, now that is my kind of trip. I love taking the back roads and stopping all along the way. You have a beautiful blog..and a new follower too! Gerry
ReplyDeleteWow! Now that's my kind of trip, now the next time please take me, I promise not to eat to much, and I promise to behave myself. LOL
ReplyDeleteGreat trip, and I can tell you all really enjoyed yourself. And I don't blame you it is summer time and you need to enjoy it. Thanks for sharing.
Hugs,
Sue
I love how you are just as addicted to your camera as I am! Almost anything is worthy of a random picture and lasting memory. :)
ReplyDeleteJordan :)
I am still amazed that you did all that and made it back in three and a half days. But then again you never cease to amaze me. Love the pics and am hoping Sweet Seasons posts hers also! By the by... I stopped at SonMaries the other day...my cell phone had died and I was hoping to use her phone. She wasn't home...bummer. Thought you'd get a giggle from it though. Love ya SISTA!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see you back!! Looks like you had a fun and relaxing vacation!! :-) Your little cabin looks cute!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I just saw that comment ... No Huskers! (Dirty word here at the moment, isn't it Jamie? ) That is KU Jayhawk red!!
ReplyDeleteFrom the looks of your pics y'all had a great time. I love perusing along those small time hiways. The scenery is just the best. Glad to hear you are enjoying your summer.
ReplyDeleteNancy
What a great time you had! I wish I knew you would have been able to call me to say hi! There is a big fire in Estes Park now. We spent a very rainy July 4th last year. I doubt we will go there this year. Don't forget the postcard from Kansas! LOL! I know you have been busy. But please do send one when you are settled in from your trip! Hugs Anne
ReplyDeleteIt's been so many years since I've been through Estes Park. What a beautiful place. I'm seriously itching for a good western road trip lately. Not sure if I'll be able to satisfy my itch though, which makes me rather sad. :-( Loved the pics of your trip - sure looks like you had gorgeous blue-skies-fluffy-cloud days!!
ReplyDeleteSo I'm dying to know... who owns the Cottage Bliss shop (and everything else?)!
And like you, I've been negligent with my blogging this month... it's just harder in the summertime to fit everything into a day and it always seems like blogging take a back seat for awhile!
That's three words, but I knew what you meant! -grin-
ReplyDeleteLooks like a ton of fun, glad it was safe as well.
Wow! Took me long enough to check out your blog! This is great...perfect outlet for your creativity.
